On This Day In Yorkshire
On this day in Yorkshire 10th September 2015- King Charles goes behind bars on tour of Yorkshire
King Charles went behind bars on a visit to Armley jail in Leeds. His Majesty was there to talk to inmates who were being rehabilitated for life outside prison, as part of the “Through the Gates” project. Prisoners are mentored through the last six months of their sentence, so they are best prepared to re-integrate themselves into the community, upon release. On the same day he also visited the Abraham Moon Woolen plant in Guiseley and the Wensleydale creamery in a grand tour of Yorkshire.
