On This Day In Yorkshire
On this day in Yorkshire July 30th 1818- Emily Bronte is born
Emily Bronte was the third eldest of the writing dynasty when she was born in Thornton near Bradford on 30th July 1818. Aged two she moved with the rest of the family to the famous parsonage in Haworth, where she was eventually inspired to write one of the biggest classic novels, “Wuthering Heights,” published in 1847. Tragically just one year after her novel was published under the pseudonym, Ellis Bell;, she died of tuberculosis, aged just thirty.
