The Brownlee brothers came to Yorkshire’s own Olympic party when they claimed both gold and bronze for team GB in the triathlon. The event, held on Monday 7th August 2012 in Hyde Park saw Allistair blow away the rest of the field to complete the swim, cycle and run in 1.46:25. His brother, Jonathan should have perhaps finished higher up the podium had it not been for a 15 second penalty for mounting his bike too early during transition. A monumental effort from the younger Brownlee saw him clinch a bronze medal and join his brother on the podium with a time of 1.46:56.
