The Snowdrop

John describes the beauty in the Snowdrop and it’s will to live.

Oh, beautiful Snowdrop, winter’s gift
Designed to give the heart a lift,
Contemporary with the ice and snow,
It sets the woodland glades aglow.

How can such a gentle sprite,
Overcome keen winter’s might,
Extreme cold and storms severe,
Yet still it comes year on year.

Such violent odds it is so brave,
A crowning glory upon winter’s grave,
The sympathetic heart must cling,
To this faithful harbinger of the spring.
