After years and years of turmoil, it was about time something good happened to Donny Rovers. A new consortium had taken over the stricken Belle Vue Club in 1999, promising to build a new stadium and a new team. The former finally came into fruition (not sure about the latter) in 2006, when the first rugby match was played there. The official opening,  came almost eight months later in time for the new football season on August 3rd 2007. This multi-sports stadium is used by Doncaster Rovers FC, the town’s Rugby League Club and the Doncaster Belles.
