We would just like to give a big congratulations to Alistair Brownlee. Yorkshire’s very own triathlon Olympic, European and Commonwealth champion secured his second win of the season on home turf at the 2015 ITU World Triathlon London. He crossed the line in front of a vast crowd at Hyde Park in a time of 50 minutes and 39 seconds. The 27 year old completed the race 12 seconds ahead of Spain’s Fernando Alarza. Alistair took the lead on the 4 lap bike route around Hyde Park, alongside Frenchman Vincent Luis and Australia’s Aaron Royle in an 18 man pack before Brownlee and Luis pulled away from the rest. The Yorkshireman bumped up the pace in the first two run laps to seal victory. Alistair’s younger brother Jonny was placed 42nd, due to a mechanical fault on the bike, after an amazing swim. Well done Alistair, keep up the good work and keep flying that Yorkshire Flag!
